Paul Ingram, Jr. was born to Ruth and Paul Ingram, Sr. in December of 1956. His parents both grew up in Marshall, Texas and relocated the family to Dallas the year of his birth. While his mother is now deceased, his father is a business entrepreneur and the proud owner of Ingram & Sons Air-Conditioning Service.
Ingram attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. His professional career began with Person’s Accounting Firm in 1979. He labored with Calvin Person and his accounting staff for some 2 years. In addition to this full-time position, he found time to also work as a part-time accountant for several other prominent local business establishments in the Dallas area such as Henderson Chicken, Rudy’s Chicken and numerous other organizations. In his leisure time, he prepared taxes for a large number of clients.
In 1982, Ingram accepted his first auditing job with DallasCounty--where he held the title of Internal Auditor-I and performed extensive auditing services. Since that time, he has worked his way up the ladder and held many positions within the Auditor’s Office coupled with assignments in the District Attorney’s Office. He has over 30 years working experience with the County in the areas of accounting and finance. This high-level of experiential learning solidifies his desire to continue his strong working relationship with the County in pursuit of becoming the Dallas County Treasurer.
